  • Establish and monitor business objectives, budgets, and performance indicators for the US sales organization.
  • Build and develop relationships with key customers and partners, take an active role in strategic sales opportunities and commercial negotiations, and represent SmarAct with external stakeholders in the USA.
  • Lead and develop the local team in close coordination with the respective German market domain leaders, fostering employee engagement and a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture.
  • Act as the primary interface between SmarAct Inc. and the German headquarters, particularly the Business Unit CEOs and central service functions such as HR, Finance, IT, and Legal.
  • Participate in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of investment and growth initiatives, and support the introduction of new products, technologies, and business processes in collaboration with the relevant departments.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance organizational effectiveness, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction, ensuring the organization is appropriately staffed and equipped to achieve its objectives.
  • Oversee compliance with applicable US laws, regulations, and corporate policies, including employment and workplace safety requirements, supported by internal specialists and external advisers.
  • Promote and exemplify SmarAct’s leadership principles and corporate values.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience in sales or general management, preferably in a technology-driven international company.
  • A demonstrated track record of driving sales growth, developing new business, and building lasting customer relationships in the US market.
  • Experience selling technically complex products or solutions, with the ability to understand customer applications and communicate their business and technical value.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business strategies in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • A structured, analytical approach combined with ownership, accountability, sound judgment, and the ability to turn decisions into action.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with cultural awareness and the ability to operate effectively in an international environment.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, delegation, employee development, and constructive management of performance issues and conflicts.
  • A self-reflective mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
  • Working knowledge of US employment practices and the compliance responsibilities involved in running a local organization.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Experience in precision positioning, metrology, automation, photonics, semiconductor technology, or related markets would be an advantage, as would an established network in relevant US industries.
